the map

I finally managed to transfer the sketched maps on different papers into one .jpg - and coloured, too! BUT: since i am really bad at geography, the map is rather... simplified.

Still, here is the world Bianca and Lorraine live in - not all of it, but the part already known. There is more to it, just ask Aistran the Dragon (Lorraine's lover), he has seen more than this one continent. But he has to tell me yet.

You might ask now why so few states exist? Well, the biggest part of the land is simply not organized into political structures. there are only two bigger civilized areas.

One of them is The Four Cities (an alliance of smaller states ruled by Elfin nobles and free cities). The Four Cities has a loose federation-like structure, with laws that are decided on by agreement of the Aeon Council (all nobles as well as representants of the guilds in the cities) and vary only slightly in different parts of it. The bonds which hold The Four Cities together are rather economical - basically, the alliance was created by trade.


And then, there is Kingdom Laedes - or rather Laedes and its vassal states, some of which (Moonland and the so-called Free Kingdom, which was free very rarely throughout the history ...) are usually trying to break free from their bonds, while others (Templestate Andara and Barony Vivriée) have long since accepted their fate. One day, Laedes might conquer the whole western part of the continent (it is trying, at least, and succeeds, little by little).

Oh, and there is The Floating Isle... the land of Free Beasten. Every Beasten that has heard of it dreams of going there. On The Floating Isle, magic doesn't work, and hence Beasten are as powerful as Elfin there and are not slaves nor serfs.

I could tell much more about the different areas and cultures... but I will stop here for now and just upload this map
